Now that Betty is an only chicken, she really needs a new home. Chickens like to be with other chickens and I have terrible guilt that she is lonely. I think I can find her a new home pretty easily - that is not the problem. The problem is with my husband and children who don't think she needs a new home because they can't stand to give her up. Everytime I bring it up they start protesting. They have every excuse in the book:
* She is not lonely, she has us and Daisy Mae
* She can't possible live with 20 other chickens, she won't get enough attention
* Nobody will take such good care of her
She has up to 7 or 8 more years left in her life span.....this may be a long discussion.
