Friend or Foe?

The area outside the slider in my "office" at the cabin is like an expressway for animals.  All day long there are deer, squirrels and jack rabbits going by.  Yesterday afternoon, I looked up from my computer and this was happening.   They just stared at each other for the longest time and then the deer quietly wandered away.   Astrid never made a peep - just stared.   She was probably thinking "that is the biggest dog I have ever seen"!  She also loves to watch the deer from the deck.  Covid service dog puppy will be great with deer but not with people because she doesn't get to see people as much as she gets exposed to deer!

Graffiti Team Event

Team events at work are taking creativity these days.  And this was a super creative one!  We had a graffiti art class.  A group of about 25 of us participated.

We each got sent the supplies and then got on a zoom call and were given directions and some history on graffiti in the US.  The history was super interesting and something I knew nothing about.
They sent me supplies to do two letters so G jumped into the fun and did one of them.   It was a nice distraction for both of us.
They will take the letters from each of the participants and put them together to create a slogan.
These are our finished letters.  They look remarkably good for no graffiti experience!

Gendel

Grendel lives in the basement with me when I work.  I looked over today and see this!  She looks like a frog - not a bearded dragon!!

9 Month's Old

Happy Birthday to Astrid.  I can't believe she is only 9 months old and does so well with her training.

And the award goes too...

Hops gets the Sainthood award for dealing Astrid all the time.

Wildfire Smoke

We are pretty much locked down during the wildfires throughout California and have been staying home most of the time.  But yesterday we went out for a little while on the boat to let the dogs swim.  We caught a couple big fish and wheezed through the smoke.

Covid Wildfire Pierogis

Since we can't go anywhere due to COVID and wildfires, we decided to make pierogis.   We used the pierogi maker Uncle B just gave us and it worked really well.

It was a good way to spend the day when it was too smoky to go outside.

Final COVID basement remodel

So happy with the way this turned out.   I am happy that I get to use it as my office too.   Today while working two mama deer and two babies hung out outside my window.   Yesterday a jack rabbit was milling about.
