Girls Weekend

Heather, Deb and I had a girls cabin weekend that was DELIGHTFUL!  We went up to Crane Flat lookout and had a picnic.  It was a cloudy, windy day but so beautiful.

On the way home we stopped at Rush Creek and had a drink and then checked out Rainbow Pool.

Baby Daddy

Meet Belushi, Hops' new baby daddy.  Her breeder normally only breeds white Labs but she asked us if we would be interested in breeding with a black Lab and we jumped at the opportunity since Drew would love a black pup!

So we took drive out to Belushi's house and met him.  He was extremely handsome so we approved him as a suitor and he went back to the breeders house with Hops where they are getting better acquainted (see above at the breeders pool).

CCI Graduation

Last Friday I was pleased to be able to attend the CCI Team Training graduation and tour the facility.  Grace was able to join me.  We drove up early Friday morning (it took 2 hours and 40 mins!) and took a few minutes to watch the dogs in the dog park before going on a tour.

After the tour, we had lunch with the 13 graduates and their puppy raisers.  It is the first time the graduates got to meet their puppy raisers and there was not a dry eye in the place!  Especially touching was the "open mike" time in which puppy raisers, graduates or any of the other guests could give thoughts and thanks.  It was truly inspiring.

After lunch we went to a big auditorium where we watched the graduation.

But before the graduation they did a procession of all the dogs that were being turned in to start their graduate training.  There were 41 of them and I had the honor of placing medals around their necks as they crossed the stage - truly and honor!

The whole day was humbling and inspiring!

TNDC Hike

We did a TNDC hike with the available TNDCers on Sunday morning.  We all enjoyed having William and Avery join us.  All was great....even after William did a tremendous, high speed wobble, downhill, ass over tea kettle crash in the first 3 minutes!   Thankfully he was ok and we continued on!

Rumikub

Grandma Anna, Grandpa Roy, Jim and I were sitting around playing rumikub last nite and Anna was talking about a friend of hers who carries her rumikub in a bag instead of a broken down old box.  Grace asked some questions, grabbed some scrap fabric she had and made us this for our rumikub game before we were even done playing!
