Down by the river

It is really hot at the cabin right now - so we headed down to the river to stay cool today.  We went expecting the river to be low and slow because it was a dry year and it is late in the season.  So we were surprised when we got there and the river was running fast.  It turns out that they had just released a bunch of water upstream at the power house.  It was cool to see because as we stayed thru the day, the water went from rushing to dropping by about a foot.

It was 106 degrees in the canyon and about 97 when we got to the top.  The water was freezing - the type of water that caused your muscles to cramp!

We all wore our keens down to the river
