Crane Flat Lookout Snow Shoe - New Years Eve 2015

We headed up to Crane Flat in Yosemite to take a snow shoe hike up to the fire lookout tower.  This is one of my favorite hikes on foot or snow shoe because it has a 360 degree view of all the mountains in Yosemite.  And once again, the beauty did not disappoint.  It was a stunningly beautiful blue sky day.   We started the hike a little farther down from normal because there was no parking at the normal spot.  We parked in the Toloumne Grove parking area.

Grace decided to snow shoe up with her skis, boots and helmet on her back so that she could ski back down!  Such a bad ass!  And Hops was one happy pup!

The fire lookout building was open.  It was nice and warm in there because we were out of the wind.  This is where I want my cabin!

Inside the fire lookout - there is a bunch of old documents on the desk - super interesting!

We brought a yummy picnic and sat right here at a picnic table!
