Mt Hood - Day 1

Day 1 of our Mt Hood trip had us arriving at the Portland airport at 9 am.  We rented a giant Suburban that is just like the Tahoe - so much that it was like being at home and we had it thrashed within 2 hours!

We headed up the mountain and stopped for groceries in Sandy, OR.  We loaded up - including 2 cups of chicken noodle soup that G and Jim ate in the car at 10 am!

We headed up to Government Camp and our Lodge was not ready yet so we checked out all the ski resorts.  First we checked out Timberline which has a historical Lodge where the movie, The Shining, was filmed.  Then we went to Mt Hood Meadows where the wind was blowing like crazy!

After our tour, we checked into our Lodge, which is big and beautiful!

After getting settled and getting a bite to eat, Jim and G went skiing and I stayed to get us organized and go for a hike (and do a little blogging!).
