Drama Queen

This one should be wearing a crown instead of antlers....

Here is what happened:

Yesterday afternoon, I was on a video call in the kitchen.

Grace was upstairs and Jim was on the couch.

The labs were in the back yard playing a rousing game of chase and wrestling mixed together.

ALL OF A SUDDEN - it sounds like there is a dog fight in the back yard.....LOTS OF SCREAMING AND CRYING.  I run out of my meeting and run to the backyard to see what is going on....all while thinking “how/why are they fighting”.  They are both such sweet labs, there is no way they should be fighting.  Plus - Astrid is a service dog hopeful, fighting will disqualify her!

Grace comes down the stairs like she is flying and just about knocks Jim out of the way as he is heading out the backdoor.

I am first on scene to find Astrid howling and crying with her back right leg being held up.  G is on scene 5 seconds later and Astrid continues to scream for 30 more seconds until we can get her to calm down.  We are both literally holding her up while she is crying.   We have no idea what’s happened but its clear her leg hurts her.   So we stand there and talk to her for a couple minutes while holding her up and telling her she is ok.

She eventually slowly puts her foot on the ground....and proceeds to walk away like nothing is wrong!

And then she is fine for the rest of the day.

Seriously - such drama!

I was sure we had a blown out knee that was going to cost us 1000's of dollars and get her released from the program.  Thankfully, she is just a drama queen and no real injury seems to have occurred.
