What a year it has been! That's an understatement. We have missed our TNDC family terribly but are committed to being safe and not seeing them in person. We still wanted to do something for NYE, so I developed a scavenger hunt that everyone could do from home.
The first requirement was to show up with a team name and in some kind of costume. They did not disappoint:
- Team Bish and Chips (The Bish Family)
- Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum (The Screwstops)
- Team Downhill Dodgers (G and Jim)
- Team Yacht Yo Mamas Scavenger Hunt Team (Tina and Marty)
- Team Tonsillitis (Drew and Kaylene - and their helpers at the AirBnB in Tahoe)
Next we did three rounds of scavenging:
- Sesame seeds
- A silly a pair of socks
- A safety pin
- A beach themed item
- A book about mental health or adulting
- Anything with a rainbow
- A craft beer
- A tshirt with a slogan*
- Any lip balm
- A coffee mug with a silly slogan
- Any candy bar
- A new toothbrush (still in wrapper)
- One red solo cup
- A planner book
- Tag(s) for a dog
- A picture of someone over 60 years old
- A Christmas cookie cutter
- Hand sanitizer
- A hammer
- A coloring book
- Something with wings
- An item used to play a sport
- Something that costs less than a dollar
- Something you can not live without
- An unopened package of toilet paper
- A souvenir from a past vacation
- A bandaid
- A piece of pink paper
- A hat, other than a baseball cap
- Something scary
- Downhill Dodgers brought a picture of someone over the age of 60 and it was Daisy Mae and her ashes!
- Yacht Yo Mamas brought something scary and it was a picture of Phyllis! HARSH! But it was enough for the WIN!
- Due to the pandemic hoarding situation most of us had an unopened toilet paper package!
- Team Tonsillitis had a "used" bandaid - gag!
- Everyone had mental health or adulting books and they were all very inspiring.
- Everyone had toothbrushes new in a wrapper - I love the focus on dental hygiene.
