Our first event in Colorado was to attend Megan's bridal shower at Eric and Susan's cabin at Della Terra. We were coming in from Ft Collins and didn't know how long it would take so we ended up being about 45 minutes early. But that was ok because we could all visit. In fact, the men stuck around for about an hour and a half just chatting and visiting. Then they went and had lunch at the Stanley Hotel.
The theme of the shower was floppy hats so each of the ladies had one on and it looked so cool!

At the beginning of the shower, each of Megan's grandmothers gave her a special treasure from their family. Her grandmother on her mothers side gave her a sugar bowl and a gold tea cup. One was from her great aunt who had a maternity home in the 30's and 40's which is the same field of work Megan is in. Her grandmother on her Dad's side is Aunt Nancy and she gave Megan her mother's wedding ring. Her mother is Jim's grandmother, Frances. Jim's Grandma and Grandpa were married on the same day 85 years before Megan and Jaron were getting married. What a wonderful treasure for Megan. It was very emotional to see her receiving the ring. The funny thing was, I had just recently asked Anna and Roy who had Grandma's wedding ring.
