This is a blog by a "real" mom for other "real" moms. I am no fakey who is wonderful at everything....I do a lot of different things and try to do them well...but when it comes right down to it, I am just an average mom trying to do the right thing to ensure my family is happy and healthy and that my kids grow up able to take care of themselves and get out of my hair.

First high altitude hike
On our first morning in Estes Park, I got up early and decided to do a hike with my pack on to see how it felt at high altitude. I went on a rolling trail right across the street from our condo. I did 4 miles in an hour and 15 minute - which was no speed record but it was tough because I was really feeling the altitude - so I was pleased!
I was hoping to see some wild life but only saw ducks and a snake cross the trail. I also saw some muddy bear prints -- but no bear!
Along the trail there was a little park that had a sharing library. It held books that you could take or room for you to leave a book.
