Demo Party

You know you have good friends when they announce they are having a demo party to tear out their kitchen and living room and a whole crew shows up.   Actually, this crew would probably show up to anything you labeled "a party"!

We literally tore out two dump trailers full of kitchen cabinets, flooring, carpet, wood and insulation.

Olympic National Park Hike

Grace and I are planning another backpacking trip with my girlfriends from Washington.  This time we are doing a 19 mile loop in Olympic National Park in Washington.  It's called the 7 Lakes Basin Hike.

I was lamenting to my girlfriend Susan that I am not close to as ready for this one as I was for the last one and that we are hardly a "bad ass ladies tour" this time around.  So she decided to work with our name for this trip and sent me this banner!

So there you have it - Smart Ass Ladies Tour 2017 - stay tuned!

Max and Ryann Wedding - Aug 12, 2017

Day three of our Alaska trip was the wedding!  What a beautiful, heartfelt wedding!

My job was to set up the tent before the wedding.  I got to be artsy!

Rehearsal Dinner

One of the cabins on the property

Max and Ryann's wedding was at Eric and Susan's cabin property on Nancy Lake.  We all joined the night before for a rehearsal and bbq.  The cabins have no plumbing, so porta pottys were brought in.  And special family (like me!) could use Susan's outhouse!

Thee was a lot of rain but not enough to discourage the celebration.

Eric and Jim decided they needed to go for a swim, even though in was in the 60's!

Ryann Bridal Shower

Last week we went to Alaska for Max and Ryann's wedding.  We got there at midnite on Wednesday and got up the next morning to help with Ryann's bridal shower.   The event was held at Eric and Susan's house and included about 45 guests (and a bunch of men watching football downstairs).

Susan's sister, Mary Beth, was the morning bartender!

It was super fun to meet Ryann's family and a bunch of Eric and Susan's Alaska friends that I have heard so much about.

Snow Play

Oakley was so excited about snow.  She either slid down it on her face or wrestled with Hops on it!  Endless fun!

Don Pedro

We spent one whole day at Don Pedro when it was 107 degrees!   It was one of those days where you had to sit in the water or be going fast on the boat or you were frying!

We went way up the arm into the river where the water temperature was 15 degrees less than the lake!

Tired baby!

We pulled up on a sandy beach and played while we took turns riding the jet ski up the river to the rapids.

Leavitt Lake

We took an all day boondoggle to Leavitt Lake, which had just opened the week before.  It is way up highway 108 about 3 miles down the back side of the Sonora Pass.  And then you drive 3 miles up a really rough road, with 3 creek crossings, to the lake.  It was so beautiful and we caught a lot of fish!

Grace and I did some hiking while the rest of the crew fished.  We took 2. 3 and 4 with us while #1 rested in the truck.  Ahi got herself stuck in a bunch of super dense brush and it took a long time for her to find her way out!
